Jordan Brown
Jordan began studying dance at a young age at her mother’s dance studio with a strong focus in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and jazz, and has received professional training from companies including Ballet Magnificat! and the Joffrey Ballet School. Growing up on the dance competition circuit, she studied with a number revered choreographers including Suzi Taylor, Andy Pellick, Mia Michaels, and many more.
Jordan specializes in teaching ballet and jazz technique, and her choreography for the mini and junior levels has been awarded on a national level every participating season. Her 2014 mini routine “Royals” was named National Champion at VIP Nationals, and was also chosen to perform at the 2014 Revolution Dancewear Fashion Show alongside professional companies such as the Joffrey Ballet. In 2015, Her mini routine “Pop, Drop, and Roll” was named National Champion at Hall of Fame. The following year, her 2016 mini routine "Wannabe" was named Runner-Up National Champion at Showstoppers. Several of Jordan’s students have gone off to perform in Joffrey’s cast of The Nutcracker, modeled for Revolution Dance wear, received scholarships to Peridance and Broadway Dance Center, and performed on national television programs including Dance Moms.
Outside of competitive dance, Jordan is also heavily involved in Chicago’s artistic and music community. In the recent year she has choreographed and casted for several local artists. Specifically, she choreographed the music video for “Symphony” on Towkio’s upcoming album, and assisted in the dance direction for Simone Bisous’s upcoming EP and short film. Jordan is also co-founder of a ballet meets streetwear brand that specializes in custom leotards, Black Swan Brand. The company was formed as a collaborative project with her sister, Kennedy Brown, who was recently featured on season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance.
